The graduates at Howard University, Washington, recently visited the White House where
they were received by President [Theodore] Roosevelt. Addressing them,
the President alluded to the number of West Indians at Howard, and the
progress they had made in their studies. He hoped that more West
Indians would enter the University next year. At the present time there are 13 or 14 Jamaicans at the Howard University.
