'To those of my era, Howard University and Jamaica are a natural. For many
years it was the most widely known US university to many Jamaicans who
saw it as their best hope to get a tertiary education. Many outstanding local
scholars and professionals have had their advanced schooling at that noted
institution in the US capital. As a senior in high
school, many of my colleagues looked to a future through one of the faculties at Howard.'
Desmond Henry in the Daily Gleaner, April 1, 2000
others who studied at Howard

In addition to the Jamaicans who graduated from Howard University there were numerous others who studied there, but, for various reasons, did not graduate.
